Membership fees help cover the cost of operating our not-for-profit library.
A. Base Membership
One year individual membership for $70 (+HST and applicable fees) for the first year and $65 (+HST and applicable fees) for each subsequent year*. Electronic purchases (credit card/online payments) are subject to a service fee.
B. Lend a Wing
One-year membership for you and a community member for $90 and $85 for each subsequent year* (+HST and applicable fees). Electronic purchases (credit card/online payments) are subject to a service fee. Subsidized memberships will be distributed to someone in our community in need via our community partners.
This year, we paused the distribution of new Lend A Wing memberships for a few months while we refined the intake process, and we’re ready to spread our wings again!
The new requirements are as follows:
- The prospective member must contact us via email and self declare that membership cost is a barrier for them. Proof of income is not required.
- Member must be able to provide valid, government issued photo ID and/or Proof of address upon registration.
- Member must provide a phone number, which will need to be verified by the administrator creating the membership.
- A note will be kept on file that ID must be checked every time by the librarian processing the loan.
- A valid Credit card will be required for items included in the existing credit card agreement, and any associated per day or per loan fees with that item will be paid upfront to ensure the validity of the card – prepaid Visa cards will not be accepted, and the card must be linked to an account that matches the users ID.
- Delinquent members who do not return items within 30 days may be suspended from the program indefinitely. Those members may be reinstated on a case-by-case basis with borrowing restricted to items valued at under $100.
- Members will be subject to the same borrowing and usage procedures as regular paid members.
C. Pending Membership
One-year membership for someone in the community in need. Subsidized memberships will be distributed to someone in our community in need via our community partners (Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition, Chalmers Community Service Centre and Immigrant Services Guelph and Wellington). Librarians cannot issue subsidized memberships to individuals. Please contact us directly if you are experiencing financial barriers and we can direct you to the right resources.
D. Gift Membership or Gift Card
One year individual membership for value of $70 (+HST and applicable fees) or your chosen value of gift card.
