The Crow’s Nest is the GTL’s digital human library. Described as “like being at a party and you grab a drink and sit across from two people you kind of know and listen to them have a conversation” and “surprisingly intimate”, The Crow’s Nest focuses on experience. It hopes to replicate the kinds of interactions Thirza had with tool library members while she checked their tools in and out of inventory. She hopes to replicate the personal experience of listen to stories, memories, experiences and ideas from both the local and global sharing economies.
A wide range of topics will be presented on The Crow’s Nest. Thirza talks with guests about their fields of expertise, career paths, current projects, inspirations and personal stories; as well as sharing thoughts, tips, lessons, and ilosophies. As The Crow’s Nest began out of a desire to move the GTL’s programming model online, the current overarching theme is COVID-19 and its effects on people’s lives and industries, as well as the positive interactions and community rallying that has come out during the pandemic. Future themes will arise as the situation and unique cultural needs of COVID-19 evolve and pass.
Episodes can currently be accessed through our blog, Substack, and Apple Podcasts. New episodes every Friday.
