The Freehub Community Bike Centre is a do-it-yourself, volunteer-run, donation-funded program of the Guelph Tool Library operating in our Old Quebec Street Shoppes location (now in Unit 115, just down the hall from our old location). Everyone is welcome to visit to access a repair stand, specialized bike tools, common replacement parts, and assistance from our volunteer mechanics.

Bike Adoption Program
If you need a used bike or know someone that does, please visit this form to request a bike from our Bike Adoption Program: https://forms.gle/UxtJU4yA5SvwfX6K9. Submitting a form does not guarantee that you will receive a bike. After you submit the form, a Freehub volunteer will get in touch if we have found a suitable bike for you. This could take a week or two. Bikes are priced on a sliding scale to make them affordable to people at all income levels. We welcome organizational partnerships serving communities in need, please get in touch with freehub@guelphtoollibrary.org if you have an idea to discuss.
Parts List
We currently stock the following new parts for sale to Freehub visitors:
- Shift and brake cable and housing (road and mountain ends)
- V-brake, cantilever, and side pull brake pads

- Tubes (700C x 18-23mm, 26″ x 1.95″-2.125″, and an assortment of others)

Volunteers with any level of experience are invited to help out at the Freehub. Please send an email to freehub@guelphtoollibrary.org or come by during our hours for more information
Support Us
The Freehub is grateful for the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and City of Guelph. In 2023 we were supported by the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition and City of Guelph through the Activating Community Micro-Grant and by OPIRG-Guelph.
The Freehub relies on monetary donations to operate. If you are able, please consider making a $5-$10 cash donation when you visit us to support our work. Alternatively, you may donate to us online by visiting http://guelphtoollibrary.org/shop/, selecting the Freehub option.
Due to limited space, we generally cannot accept donations of large parts like complete bikes, frames at this time. If you have smaller parts to donate, such as working-condition wheels, shifter, brake, drivetrain components, or accessories, please contact us at freehub@guelphtoollibrary.ca before you visit.
Collaborate With Us
Do you have an idea of how we can help your organization make cycling more accessible to all community members? We are interested in hosting drop-in DIY repairs, workshops, and other activities around the community. Please reach out to freehub@guelphtoollibrary.org about collaborating!
